Memory

I’ve lost my specs, can’t sign my cheques

I search the house in vain,

At last they’re found, my neck they’re round

Upon my glasses chain.

Upstairs I go, but I don’t know

What I am doing here,

I think again, and wrack my brain

I’m going nuts I fear.

Now where’s my key, where can it be

I’m outside my front door,

It’s by the phone and no one’s home

I cannot take much more.

It can’t get worse, I write this verse

To jog my memory,

Please let me know, before you go

If I am really me.
